Positive Behavioral and Intervention Supports (PBIS)

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered (Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3) framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. PBIS creates schools where all students succeed. SAHS continues to improve school-wide awareness and implementation of PBIS on a daily basis. Our staff works collaboratively to ensure that all of our students are supported.

In 2022, San Antonio High School earned the California PBIS Gold Implementation Award. Gold level implementation is the second-highest ranking by PBIS.

In 2023, San Antonio High School earned the California PBIS Platinum Implementation Award. Platinum level implementation is the most prestigious ranking by PBIS.

The California PBIS Coalition, recognized San Antonio High School for successful PBIS implementation at the Platinum status level for the 22-23 school year and Gold for the 21-22 school year, reflecting excellence in the measurement of fidelity as well as efforts in implementing the core features of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. PBIS is a framework or approach for assisting school personnel in adopting and organizing evidence-based behavioral interventions into an integrated continuum that enhances academic and social behavior outcomes for all students. PBIS is not a packaged curriculum, scripted intervention, or manualized strategy.
PBIS is a prevention-oriented way for school personnel to (a) organize evidence-based practices, (b) improve their implementation of those practices, and (c) maximize academic and social behavior outcomes for students.
PBIS supports the success of all students.
