Staff Biographies

Andrea Deligio , Principal

Mrs. Deligio has over 25 years of experience in education, all at the high school level. She was an English teacher and counselor before going into administration. Her own educational journey includes degrees from Mt. SAC (AA), Cal Poly, Pomona (BA, English) and University of La Verne (M.Ed, Education). As a high school student, three of her teachers are aunts and an uncle to Mrs. Gaw! She was also Mrs. Baugh's English teacher. Mrs. Deligio lives in Claremont with her husband and daughter who is a CHS student. She enjoys gardening, walking, crafting and enjoying '80s music with her daughter.

Ana Avilez

Ana Avilez, Office Manager

Mrs. Avilez is San Antonio's Office Manager, and has previously been a secretary at Claremont High School.  She is indispensable to the success of San Antonio, as she makes sure the operations run smoothly. She enjoys entertaining family and friends, running, and can often be found spending time with her four daughters and husband.

Tyler Baugh

Tyler Baugh, History Teacher

Mr. Baugh is our Social Studies teacher at San Antonio.  He is a high school graduate of Diamond Bar High and received his history degree and teaching credentials at Cal State Fullerton. He is looking forward to building new programs and impacting the kids and community through the power of a social studies education.  In his spare time, he likes to travel and play soccer.

Anthony Fontana, Physical Education Teacher

Mr. Fontana teaches PE and helps coach football and softball at San Antonio. He completed his degree at Cal State East Bay and his teaching credential at Cal Poly Pomona. Mr. Fontana is in his third year teaching at San Antonio and is looking forward to a great year with fun units such as archery! In his spare time, he like to play golf and travel. 

Ana Velasquez

Ana Velasquez, Mathematics Teacher

Mrs. Velasquez teaches math at San Antonio High School.  She is excited about getting to see her returning students, and to meeting a new group this year.  She studied economics at UC Santa Cruz, and received her teacher training at Azusa Pacific University.  In addition to teaching math, she has also served as the yearbook advisor.  She enjoys photography and video editing, and spending time with her children, especially at their sporting events.

Melissa Gaw

Melissa Gaw, English Teacher

Mrs. Gaw teaches English for San Antonio and has been at San Antonio for nearly her entire career. She loves the "family" feel of San Antonio, and the opportunity to connect with students, that a small school helps to facilitate. She was educated at Loyola Marymount for her undergraduate education and completed her graduate work at Cal State Fullerton--studying English at both schools. In her spare time, she enjoys comedy shows, swimming, football, and kickboxing, in addition to spending time with her husband and daughters.

Andrew Hernandez, Social Science Teacher

Mr. Hernandez is in his first year teaching and looking forward to connecting with the students at San Antonio. He chose this career to positively impact the lives of the younger generations. He received his Bachelor's degree in history and his teaching credential at Cal Poly Pomona. He's a big family person. Family means everything to him. In my spare time he enjoys playing sports (mainly soccer), watching sports, staying active, watching movies, and trying new hobbies!

Jessica Saini, Science Teacher

Mrs. Saini teaches science for San Antonio High School. She received her Bachelor’s in chemical engineering at UC Irvine, Master’s in Quality Assurance for Manufacturing at CSU Dominguez Hills, and teaching credential from CSU San Bernardino. Finding a home at SAHS has brought a sense of belonging that she did not find in the engineering world. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family (especially her nephews), crafting, and Disneyland visits.

Lisette Mancilla, Counselor/MFT

Lisette graduated from the University of La Verne with a master's degree in marriage and family therapy in 2014, followed by a master's degree in educational counseling with a PPS credential in 2016. Lisette brings over 12 years of experience working with children and teens to her role as a Clinical Therapist/School Counselor. Her passion for working with the SAHS population stems from her own experience graduating from a continuation high school, driving her commitment to supporting and empowering students in similar situations. Her expertise and dedication to supporting young individuals make her a valuable asset to our school community.
